Tom Brady may have signed a lucrative 10-year worth $375 million with FOX Sports to serve as an NFL analyst, but one prominent media reporter doesn’t think he’ll actually spend a decade in the booth.

Speaking on his “Sports Media with Richard Deitsch” podcast (h/t Barrett Sports Media), The Athletic media reporter Richard Deitsch expressed confidence that the seven-time Super Bowl champion will not end up working the entire duration of his deal with FOX:

“I’d bet all the money I own that Tom Brady will not complete the FOX contract. I can’t tell you how many years he will be there, but it seems inconceivable, to me, that he would be there for all 10.”

There’s no real way of knowing what the three-time league MVP will end up doing over the next-decade plus. For all we know, he could decide after a relatively short period of time that broadcasting isn’t quite for him.

Brady could also go the Troy Aikman route and end up flourishing in his role to the point where he sticks to it for a decade (or two, or three).

Brady agreed to the $375 million contract with FOX in 2022 before he suited up for his final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady is set to enter the broadcast booth in 2024, where he’ll work with the company’s top commentary team of Kevin Burkhardt and Erin Andrews.

The 46-year-old Brady retired with seven Super Bowl rings (the most for any player in history), three MVPs and as the all-time leader in completions (7,753), passing yards (89,214) and passing touchdowns (649).
