Two FPL players transferred in by over half a million players ahead of next gameweek

FPL managers couldn’t wait to bring the two players into their teams.

Ahead of Fantasy Premier League gameweek four, nearly half a million managers have transferred in two specific players.

As the Premier League returned following a summer of tournaments like Euro 2024 and the Copa America, so did Fantasy Premier League, reigniting rivalries between friends across the world.

But, with domestic football pausing for a week as the season’s first international break is set to begin, FPL managers are itching for more content around the game.

And 10 days before the deadline for the next gameweek, nearly half a million eager managers have already made their transfers.

Brighton and Hove Albion have perhaps been the standout performers so far this season, scoring ten goals and winning all three of their Premier League matches so far.

Therefore, it may come as no surprise that striker Joao Pedro has already been transferred into 592,000 FPL teams.

The Brazilian has scored two goals across the three games, netting him a total of 18 points.

And, at the cheap price of £5.7million, he appears to be the standout budget forward to be paired alongside the premium attackers like Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah and Cole Palmer, who remain the three highest scoring players in the game.

But Pedro isn’t the only player that has been trasnferred into over half a million FPL teams long before the gameweek four deadline.

Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has also seen a rise in popularity since the end of gameweek three, with 516,000 managers bringing him into their teams.

Alongside Brighton, Liverpool have impressed this season so far, as Arne Slot seems to have batted away any doubts that he couldn’t deal with the talent in the Premier League.

The Reds have also won all three of their season openers, scoring seven goals without conceding a single one.

Colombia’s Diaz has excelled across the three games, scoring three goals and registering one assist while starting all of the matches.

Most recently, in the final match of the FPL gameweek three, the forward scored a first-half brace against Liverpool’s long-term rivals Manchester United, likely explaining the rapid increase in transfers ahead of gameweek four.
