Two Premier League clubs are ready to sign Sofyan Amrabat despite Manchester United loan disaster

The Morocco international is attracting admiring glances despite his overall disappointing loan spell at Old Trafford from Fiorentina

Sofyan Amrabat’s overall disappointing spell at Manchester United has not stopped admiring glances from other Premier League sides, with two teams reportedly sending scouts to watch the midfielder in action recently.

The 27-year-old Morocco international joined United in the summer in a season-long loan deal from Italian side Fiorentina.

The Old Trafford club paid the Serie A outfit a loan fee of £8.5m, with the deal including a clause for United to purchase the midfielder for £21.4m at the end of the season.

However, it appears United will not be taking up that option after an overall disappointing season for the midfielder, who has struggled to nail down a regular starting place in Erik ten Hag’s side.

Amrabat has played 28 times in all competitions, but only 11 of these have been starts.

The midfielder has started United last two Premier League games and has impressed with a late season flurry of form in the 1-0 loss to Arsenal and the 3-2 midweek victory over Newcastle United, both at Old Trafford.

Amrabat could be playing his final two games for United soon, starting with the final day Premier League away game against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, before the FA Cup final against Manchester City next weekend in a repeat of last season’s encounter.

Though it appears Amrabat’s time at Old Trafford could be very shortly coming to an end, the midfielder could be staying in the Premier League after all.

According to a report by The Sun, London clubs Fulham and Crystal Palace have both sent scouts to watch Amrabat in action over the past month.

The report suggests the Eagles in particular were impressed with how Amrabat acquitted himself when he came off the bench for United as Palace battered the Red Devils 4-0 at Selhurst Park recently.

Should Amrabat not join United this summer, as expected, then he will have a year remaining on his deal at Fiorentina, meaning the Italian club would likely have to sell the midfielder, or risk him walking away for free in mid-2025 if he does not pen fresh terms.

We will see over the summer whether Amrabat continues his stay in English football or not.
