Rapper 50 Cent has said the world is “almost over” after Donald Trump’s campaign allegedly raised more than $200 million since he was found guilty of 34 felonies.

On May 30, a jury found the former president guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records relating to a hush money payment made to the adult film actress Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 presidential election. The prosecution argued that the hush money payment was part of a broader scheme to “promote Mr. Trump’s election by unlawful means.” Donald Trump has denied the claims.

According to his son, Eric Trump, the campaign donations are comprised of over $70 million in small-donor fundraising. He attributed the information to his wife Lara Trump, who is the Republican National Committee (RNC) co-chair, during an appearance on the Fox News show Sunday Morning Futures.

On Monday, 50 Cent—born Curtis Jackson III—shared a screenshot of an article to X (formerly Twitter) with the headline “BREAKING: Trump campaign has received over $200 million in total donations since the guilty verdict in New York.”

“[The grinning squinting face emoji] SMH [shaking my head] don’t worry the world’s almost over just enjoy the moment and be happy,” 50 Cent captioned the post. At the time of writing, it had been viewed 408,800 times.

Newsweek emailed spokespeople for Donald Trump and 50 Cent for comment on Tuesday.

As with most anti-Trump posts online, the rapper’s post has been flooded with comments from Donald Trump supporters.

“Trump’s laughin’ straight to the bank,” one person commented.

“When are you gonna officially endorse Trump? Save your country bro!” one person asked 50 Cent.

A third person added: “Trump 2024!!”

However, other X users responded with criticism of the former president.

“Those same people won’t donate to the poor,” one person wrote, while another person commented: “Is this Trumps calculation? [rolling on the floor laughing emoji]”

“Jesus coming back would be a real blessing,” someone else posted.

During his appearance on Sunday Morning Futures, Eric Trump told host Maria Bartiromo that he asked his wife about the donations before leaving the house that day.

“And [Lara] said, just in terms of small dollar, we’re well over $70 million. This is $21 donations, $43 donations, right, small dollar donations,” he said.

“If you add the large dollar donations to it, you’re over $200 million. And by the way, Maria 30 percent of those people have never been seen before by a political party.”

On Friday, Donald Trump’s campaign told Newsweek over email that the Republican politician “nearly doubled” his daily fundraising record after a jury found him guilty in his hush money case.

“Today, the Trump campaign announced a record shattering small dollar fundraising haul following the sham Biden Trial verdict totaling $34.8 million—nearly double the biggest day ever recorded for the Trump campaign on the WinRed platform,” a spokesperson said.

“From just minutes after the sham trial verdict was announced, our digital fundraising system was overwhelmed with support, and despite temporary delays online because of the amount of traffic, President Trump raised $34.8 million dollars from small dollar donors.”

His campaign, however, has also received warning signs from polling that the verdict could change the dynamics of the 2024 campaign.

Incumbent President Joe Biden and Donald Trump have both secured enough delegates in their respective primaries to win their parties’ presidential nominations. Their first debate is set for June 27, with another on September 10.
