Cardi B will work on a Spanish-language album after she drops her long-awaited sophomore LP.

On Monday, June 24, the Bronx native revealed the results of a poll on her Instagram Story in which she asked fans if they’d want to hear a Spanish album from her. According to data from the poll, 79% of her fans want her to make the Latin-inspired project. The half-Dominican, half-Trinidadian artist sided with the majority and told her constituents that she’ll focus on that album after she drops her forthcoming body of work.

“OK AFTER MY ENGLISH ALBUM,” she captioned her IG Story with the results.

The poll came after the mother of two, born Belcalis Almánzar, hopped on two separate collaborations with the Latin world’s biggest stars. Last week, Peso Pluma released his new album ÉXODO featuring his Bardi-assisted song “Put Em In The Fridge.” The track arrived a few months after Cardi and Shakira joined forces for “Punteria” off the Colombian superstar’s recent album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. Prior to that, Cardi worked with Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Ozuna, and Rosalia.

This isn’t the first time Cardi B has discussed the possibility of a Latin album. Back in 2022, the “Enough (Miami)” rapper pulled up on Angie Martinez and discussed the pressures of making an album in Spanish.

“I want to do a Spanish album,” she said at the time. “I feel like that’s more pressure to me than anything because it’s like that Latin world… they want it but I feel like it’s not as easy as people think.”

In the meantime, fans are still waiting for her sophomore album to drop. She recently released a few songs including her “Like What Freestyle” and “Bongos” featuring Megan Thee Stallion. So far, she has not confirmed the release date or title.
