VIDEO: Bench-Clearing Brawl Erupts At California High School Football Game After Ugly Helmet-Swinging Incident (PO)

Central High and Garza High players fighting

A California high school football game between Central High and Garza High had to be called off early in the second half after an argument turned into throwing punches.

The Central High Grizzlies were having a damn good game as they were up 40-0 over the Garza High Guardians when a massive fight broke out between the two sides.

Central High School led Justin Garza 40-0 when two players tangled up during a Garza punt.

Footage of the end of the play showed two players still battling with each other around the line of scrimmage.

Neither the Central High Grizzlies nor the Garza High Guardians players wanted to let up, and things escalated to a terrible point.

A Guardians player could be seen ripping off the helmet of the Grizzlies player and using it as a weapon to strike him.

At that point, the helmetless player decided to square up, and they both began to fight.

By that time, the players had noticed what was going on, so they started running towards the action. All hell broke loose.

The footage would switch to much closer action as coaches tried their best to separate Central High and Garza High players from fighting.

Another damning piece of footage showed number 91 of the Garza High Guardians running full speed to a player with no helmet from the Central High Grizzlies and trying to punch him in the face.

Unfortunately, his punch landed in the face of a coach who was simply trying to break things up. Luckily, it looked like that coach ate that punch.

Another player would then come running in and land a punch to the face of the helmetless player.

The game was ultimately called early, and Central was awarded the victory.

It is not known if any players will be disciplined.

Central High Grizzlies QB Had Spectacular Game Amid Fight

The massive brawl between Central High School and Garza dampened the evening, but one quarterback had quite the game.

Grizzlies sophomore quarterback Jelani Dippel finished the game completing 20 of 26 for 293 yards and two touchdowns, per the Fresno Bee.
