With countless film productions placed on an indefinite hold while we all continue to navigate the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, some creatives are using their mandatory quarantine time to produce some of their best work ever, making sure that when the world returns to normal, they’ll be ready with fresh stories to tell.
This being the case, D&D enthusiast and Fast saga frontman Vin Diesel has recently teased that a sequel to THE LAST WITCH HUNTER is currently being written.

“Some of the best scripts will be written during this time,” Diesel wrote on Instagram in a post that features him as the spectacularly-bearded witch hunter.
Back in March, the bald-headed behemoth confirmed to Collider that a sequel to his 2005 action fantasy flick was sharpening its sword. “Lionsgate is coming and saying, ‘We’re putting a writer on for the next one’,” he said. “That’s kinda cool! …And this is just recent, by the way. But it’s funny that you mentioned Last Witch Hunter because I’m in a meeting with Lionsgate and they’re actively creating the sequel to The Last Witch Hunter.”
Unleashed in theaters in 2015, THE LAST WITCH HUNTER follows Kaulder (Diesel), a Witch Hunter that stands between humanity and the combined forces of the most horrifying witches in history. As it happens, Diesel based much of Kaulder’s backstory on a Dungeons and Dragons character he created. In addition to Diesel, the film also starred Michael Caine, Rose Leslie and Elijah Wood.
If I may, THE LAST WITCH HUNTER is something of a guilty pleasure for me. I’ve been a fan of Diesel’s since he’d arrived on the scene as Richard B. Riddick for director David Twohy’s PITCH BLACK, and I haven’t looked back since. That’s right, I’ve even watched THE PACIFIER, willingly. I admit without any shame that I would love to see a sequel to THE LAST WITCH HUNTER come to pass, as there’s always room in my viewing schedule for Vin, as well as any fantasy adventure that features monstrosities abound!
