Joe Rogan talks on Yair Rodriguez (Image Credit: Getty Images)
Joe Rogan recently talked about Yair Raziel Rodríguez Portillo in his podcast. Yair is a professional mixed martial artist from Mexico. He is a competitor in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight division and the former Interim UFC Featherweight Champion. After winning the featherweight division of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America, Rodríguez joined the UFC in 2014. In the UFC featherweight rankings, he is ranked #4.
Joe Rogan talked about different fighting tactics in his podcast with Craig Jones. He mentioned how difficult it is for fighters to throw their strikes while getting punched in the face. But if it is not the face, the fighters might be able to attack their opponents with kicks.
In Addition to this statement, Joe praises Yair Rodriguez and says he is one of the favorite fighters to watch in the UFC because of his spectacular kicks.
Yair Rodriguez and His Kicking Skills Make Him One Of The Best Fighters In UFC
Yair Rodriguez, 31, fights in the 145-lb weight category. He has won 19 matches and lost 5: 3 via TKO, one via submission, and one via decision. Rodriguez last fought with Brian Ortega, where he lost via submission. It was a second matchup between the two fighters, as they had already fought once in 2022, where he had won the fight via TKO.
Before facing Brian Ortega for their second matchup, Yair also faced Alexander Volkanovsku on July 8th, 2023, but in that match, too, he lost to his opponent via TKO (punches).

In 2023, Joe Rogan highlighted Yair Rodriguez’s kicking game when he won against Josh Emmett.
“Pantera” had created many highlights during his career, including some absurd stoppage victories. This was by no means his first. With his distinct skill set and lightning-fast speed, he threatened Volkanovski’s shorter man with his rangy offensive.
UFC color commentator Joe Rogan was also impressed by Rodriguez. On one of the episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan lavished the Mexican champion with accolades, calling him a “genius” and waxing poetic about his kicking prowess.
