Caitlin Clark big hint dropped as rival basketball league attempts to lure WNBA star away
Caitlin Clark has been offered a lucrative spot on the Unrivaled League roster.
Caitlin Clark has been offered a huge amount of money to join the Unrivaled League
A new move by the Unrivaled League suggests they are not giving up on luring Caitlin Clark to their roster during the WNBA off-season. Clark is yet to join the likes of Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart and Brittney Griner in signing up to the six-team league.
A total of 30 players have already been snapped up by the Unrivaled League, which is offering some of the largest salaries in the history of women’s sport. Players who sign up also receive equity as part of their deals.
The initial roster has been expanded from 30 to 36 players, according to Sportico, suggesting the Unrivaled League are still hoping to attract Clark. She has reportedly been promised a huge amount of money if she decides to play, but is yet to accept the offer.
League bosses are holding out hope of luring Clark with a lucrative contract
Alex Bazzell, president of the Unrivaled League, has already confirmed that Clark would be welcomed with open arms.
Speaking earlier this week, he said: “We’re always going to have a roster spot for Caitlin Clark. We’re not applying a full court press the way people think. She knows that we have a spot for her when she’s ready.”
The entire list of Unrivaled League players is due to be announced on November 20, meaning tournament bosses only have a few weeks to convince Clark to play.
Others have suggested that she has no intention of getting involved, with the 22-year-old planning on taking a break from basketball until the new WNBA season gets underway next year.

ESPN commentator Ryan Ruocco said he spoke to Clark before the Indiana Fever were eliminated from the WNBA play-offs and reported that she would not partake in any extra-curricular tournaments.
“We talked to Caitlin Clark earlier today,” he said. “She said she almost definitely will not play basketball this off-season, so it is likely we will not see her play again until April.”
Clark will have a busy off-season regardless of whether or not she decides to play in the Unrivaled League. She has been practicing her skills on the golf course ahead of a charity tournament in December, where she will team up with Annika Sorenstam.
She recently opened up on her plans for the winter break, saying: “It’s going to be nice, I think. Getting out of the spotlight and just getting to live my life and do things that I want to do.”
