TikTok is full of truly bizarre conspiracy theories and one of them is the ‘Kardashian curse’, which claims the famous sisters bring bad luck to the men they date

Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloe Kardashian were forced to speak out against the “Kardashian curse” when fans accused the famous family of bringing bad luck to the men they date.

The theory went viral on TikTok as fans claimed all of the men the sisters had dated suffered epic falls from grace. Kim and Khloe branded the conspiracy theory “super sexist”.

They’re not the only family members to speak about the so-called curse, with Kylie Jenner previously explaining what it was in an episode of The Kardashians. “The Kardashian curse is every male figure that comes and dates a Kardashian. Their life kind of just goes downhill after that,” she said. Here, we’ve taken a deep dive into the “Kardashian curse” conspiracy.

Scott Disick

Khloe said: “It says that, many moons ago, a woman in our family made a deal with four witches. It was wild.” She added: “Why can society blame us girls but they would never blame men? So you’re telling me that I made someone a drug addict? I made someone cheat?”

Scott himself is said to be a victim of the curse. The 40-year-old dated Kourtney Kardashian from 2006 until 2015 and has suffered many ups and downs in his life.

Throughout their relationship, Scott struggled with addiction issues and was in and out of rehabilitation facilities. He would often take part in excessive partying which was fuelled by the trauma he suffered following the tragic death of his parents.

Kanye West

Kanye West was married to Kim Kardashian for six years before Kim filed for divorce. During their marriage, Kanye was hospitalized and diagnosed with bipolar disorder. His mental health issues proved difficult for Kim as the rapper made a series of controversial statements and even revealed he had wanted to abort their daughter North West.

More recently, Kanye released some vile anti-Semitic comments on Twitter as he wrote: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”

His comments caused a number of brands including Gap, Balenciaga and Adidas to cut ties with him. As a result, Kanye was believed to have lost $1.6billion of his net worth.

Lamar Odom had a whirlwind romance with Khloe Kardashian and the two got engaged just weeks after their first meeting. Just nine days after getting engaged, Khloe and Lamar tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Beverly Hills.

The two seemed to be developing an unbreakable bond and were even given their own reality show, Khloe & Lamar. However, their fairy-tale romance wasn’t what it seemed.

Khloe filed for divorce in 2013 and Lamar admitted to having a cocaine addiction and to cheating on his wife. The couple’s divorce papers were signed, but in July 2015, Lamar suffered a near-fatal overdose in a Las Vegas brothel.

He was rushed to hospital where he suffered 12 seizures and six strokes. Lamar’s heart stopped twice at the hospital and his family and friends were told to prepare for the worst. He spent four days in a coma.

Khloe withdrew the divorce petition so she could make medical decisions on Lamar’s behalf. When Lamar recovered, their divorce was finalized in December 2016.

Tristan Thompson

After enjoying a few brief romances following her split from Lamar, Khloe moved on with NBA player Tristan Thompson. Throughout their romance, Khloe and the “Kardashian curse” were blamed whenever Tristan’s team the Cleveland Cavaliers performed badly.

Tristan and Khloe’s romance was also marred by his cheating scandals. Tristan was caught on CCTV kissing women in a club just days before Khloe was due to give birth. While they initially managed to move past the scandal, they split less than a year later when he was caught kissing Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods.

Tristan spent months trying to win Khloe back and she eventually relented in August 2020. They split for good in December 2021 after it emerged Tristan had cheated on Khloe again, this time fathering a son with personal trainer Maralee Nichols.

In January of this year, Tristan made the headlines once again for all the wrong reasons. The 33-year-old was suspended by the NBA for 25 games after he broke the league’s strict anti-drug rules.

Tristan tested positive for banned substances ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033. These drugs are used to boost performance, helping users get stronger and recover faster.

Travis Scott

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott started dating in 2017 after meeting at Coachella. During their relationship, Travis was thrown into the spotlight after 10 concert-goers died while attending his Astroworld Festival.

The tragedy happened in 2021 and also saw attendees injured after a crowd rushed the stage. In June 2023, it was revealed Travis won’t be facing charges over the deaths. A grand jury was considering a criminal indictment, but no action was taken.

In a statement, his attorney Kent Schaffer said: “My client Travis Scott will not be charged with criminal charges or any wrongdoing for his involvement with AstroWorld festival. Today’s decision by the Harris County District Attorney confirms what we have known all along – that Travis Scott is not responsible for the AstroWorld tragedy.”

Kris Humphries

Kris Humphries may have only been married to Kim Kardashian for 72 days, but fans are convinced he has also been affected by the “Kardashian curse”. Kris’ career seemed to go downhill following his relationship with Kim.

His reputation as a basketball player declined and he was even booed at one of his games. In an essay written for The Players’ Tribune, Kris said: “I thought to myself, ‘Why exactly are they booing me, though? Is it just because I’m That Guy from TV? Do they think I was trying to be famous? Is it because they think I disrespected the game of basketball?’ The last one killed me, because all I’ve ever wanted to be known for was basketball.”
