Caitlin Clark has been on the receiving end of several hard fouls early in her WNBA career.

Most recently, the Indiana Fever’s No. 1 overall pick was hit across the head by a Flagrant 1 foul from Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese.

During a recent episode of Gil’s Arena, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas said Reese has embraced her role as a “bully” in the WNBA.

WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes, a guest on the show, quickly fired back with a response to Arenas’ take.

Swoopes disagreed with Arenas’ opinion of Reese. In fact, she turned the tables and said Clark is the true bully.

“[Reese is] not a bully… If you want to talk about bullies, we can talk about every time Caitlin has the ball she pushes off,” Swoopes said. “I’m just saying.”

This isn’t the first time Swoopes has issued some controversial comments about Clark on Arenas’ show. Back in January, the three-time WNBA MVP and four-time champion questioned the validity of Clark’s all-time NCAA scoring record.

Swoopes incorrectly said Clark was in her fifth year at Iowa, when the former Hawkeyes star actually broke the record in four seasons.

“If Kelsey Plum set that record in four years, well, Caitlin should’ve broke that record in four years,” Swoopes said. “But because there’s a COVID year, and then there’s another year, you know what I mean? So she’s already had an extra year to break that record. So, is it truly a broken record? I don’t know. I don’t think so. But yeah, that’ll go in the record books. And, I don’t think it should be.”

Swoopes later walked back those comments and admitted her mistake.

Clark and the Fever will face off against the Washington Mystics on Wednesday night.
