NFL star Tyreek Hill challenges Noah Lyles to race and claims USA star was ‘pretending’ to be sick at Paris Olympics

Lyles missed one of the Paris Olympics events after his Covid diagnosis

MIAMI Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has said he could beat Team USA sprinter Noah Lyles in a race.

The NFL star also cast doubt that the Olympic gold medalist in the 100-meter dash came down with Covid before finishing third in the 200-meter at the Paris Olympics.

Hill, 30, made the audacious claim as he talked about Lyles’ infamous world champions comments in an interview with Kay Adams on Monday.

Last year, the track and field star questioned whether NBA title winners should call themselves the champions of the world after a triumph in a domestic competition.

“Noah Lyles can’t say nothing after what just happened to him,” Hill said.

“Then, he wants to come out and pretend like he’s sick. I feel like that’s horseradish.

“For him to do that and say that we’re not world champions of our sport? Come on, bruh.

“Just speak on what you know about. And that’s track.”

Adams then asked Hill whether he would consider challenging Nyles to a race once he’s back from Paris.

“I’d beat Noah Lyles,” the Dolphins wideout responded.

Hill said the race would likely be close but insisted he would beat the Virginia native.

“When I beat him, I’m gonna put on a Covid mask and let him know I mean business.

“Because I do mean business.”

Lyles struggled to breathe after the 200-meter final before leaving the track in a wheelchair.

After the news of his Covid diagnosis came out, he withdrew from the men’s 4×100-meter relay.

“First I want to thank God for getting me through this entire Olympics!” Lyles wrote on Instagram.

“Second I want to congratulate @tebogo_letsile_, @kenny_bednarek, and everyone else on an amazing Olympic 200m final.

“Finally I want to thank everyone for the supportive messages. I believe this will be the end of my 2024 Olympics.

“It is not the Olympics I dreamed of but it has left me with so much Joy in my heart.

“I hope everyone enjoyed the show. Whether you were rooting for me or against me, you have to admit you watched, didn’t you?”

The relay suffered a disaster of a performance without Lyles, finishing seventh after botching a baton handoff on the first pass.
