Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are in the midst of a hot streak since returning from the Olympic break, going 8-2 in that time span. On Wednesday, they took on the Las Vegas Aces, the only team the Fever have yet to beat.
With just over four minutes left in the third quarter of the game, things got pretty chippy between Clark and fellow WNBA All-Star Jackie Young.
As Clark went up for a reverse layup, she accidentally hit Young in the face on her way down. But, at the same time, Young brought her elbow up while Clark was in midair, connecting with Clark’s jaw. Both players went down in appeared to be in some serious pain.
The referees reviewed the play for a possible flagrant foul, but they deemed that both Clark and Young’s actions were unintentional, and no fouls were handed out. Both stars shook off the hit and stayed in the game.
Although no fouls were handed to Clark and Young, Fever forward Aliyah Boston picked up a foul away from the play just seconds after. Aces star A’ja Wilson was given a free throw as a result.

Both Clark and Young were the No. 1 draft picks in their respective class, Clark in 2024 and Young in 2019. Young is coming off a gold medal win in her first Team USA 5×5 appearance at the 2024 Paris Games. She did compete in the Tokyo Olympics, but for the 3×3 squad, where she also won gold.
