A WHEEL of Fortune contestant has lost out on $100,000 in a particularly painful ending to the game show’s bonus round.

On Monday night, tattoo artist Cairo aced the first three words of the four-letter puzzle before drawing a very costly blank.

During the Marvel-themed episode, Cairo emerged the winner the the highest score of $28,267 and high hopes.

He chose “Phrase” as the category for his bonus puzzle and the additional letters of “HGMA.”

Once he was done picking, the four-word challenge read as “THE_ HAV_ _’ ‘G_ _ _’ ‘ _ _ A L_T_ES.”

Cairo instantly knew “They have good-” repeating it multiple times.

But he could not get to the last word and the 10-second timer ran out.

The full puzzle was displayed as “They Have Good Qualities,” and Cairo kept his composure with a smile.

“You got three quarters of it,” Pat Sajak, 77, lamented as they stood together.

“They have good something, good qualities.”

Pat then opened the prize card and said, “We have to look in here. The important thing is he’s won $28,267. I guess there’s no putting this off.”

In a rare move, the broadcast also showed Cairo’s winnings before showing what he would have won given the bonus prize amount.

That’s likely because, as Pat revealed, Cairo missed out on a hefty $100,000, the highest amount on the wheel without a $1million wedge.

Cairo’s expression turned to shock as he glanced at the giant prize pot, and whispered, “Wow.”

The audience gasped and Pat declared, “How do you think I feel!?”

‘OMG’

Wheel of Fortune fans spun to social media where they were left in shambles over the giant miss.

“Omg I hate watching wheel of fortune when the person wasn’t able to solve the final round puzzle but I was,” one X user wrote.

“Yikes, that stings!! #WheelofFortune,” wrote another.

WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE

During Pat’s sendoff season, wrong answers on the beloved game show just keep on spinning.

Recently, a contestant missed the bonus puzzle “BAGELS & D_ _G _ N_TS,” unable to guess “doughnuts,” costing her a BMW.

Another contestant lost by mispronouncing one word of a completed puzzle, fans debating Pat’s “cold-blooded” ruling.

More humorously, a contestant went viral for her wrong answer: “The British Ogre.”

In the fall, NFL star Rashad Jennings went viral for thinking director Quentin Tarantino was “Puentin” Tarantino.

Of course, the season’s biggest Wheel moment was last week’s bonus round miss, with the nation claiming Megan was “robbed” and said the bonus puzzle correctly.

Megan went on GMA to respond to the “Pink Orchid” controversy and let fans know she did not, in fact, say “Pink Orchid.”

Pat is retiring at the end of Season 41 in June 2024, marking the end of an era as Ryan Seacrest will begin hosting next fall.
