In the latest episode of ‘Courtside Club,’ Rachel DeMita raised concerns over the drama seen in the WNBA during Caitlin Clark’s rookie year. The sports personality weighed in on the topic and hoped that the league gets “cleaned up” ahead of the influx of new talent in the upcoming seasons.

“I feel like the WNBA fumbled this season on a lot of levels and I think it does suck for the players who have stayed out of the drama. The players who have gone out there and played hard every night,” Rachel DeMita said. “Yet now we have people not wanting to watch the WNBA because other players want to say slick things and play dirty.

“I hope that next season it gets cleaned up because we’re going to have more young superstars coming in the league. We can’t have this kind of jealousy pettiness towards them. … There’s a long list of players who are going to be coming in over the next few seasons but this is the future of the WNBA.”

“I wanna commend Caitlin for this entire season and I honestly think one of the best attributes of her game this entire season was her ability to stay focused and not let all the outside noise get to her. She handled every interview with grace.”
Caitlin Clark concluded her historic rookie campaign after the Indiana Fever were swept by the Connecticut Sun in a first-round series of the WNBA playoffs. She led the Fever to their first playoff appearance since 2016 and broke numerous WNBA records on her way.

Clark was burdened with immense pressure for her rookie season, given the tremendous hype that preceded her ever since the conclusion of her stellar collegiate career. However, the first pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft lived up to the expectations and also led by example with her focused drive for the game, blocking out unwanted noise.
