One day after trading star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, the Buffalo Bills have added another standout veteran to their offense.

According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, the Buffalo Bills are signing former Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle La’el Collins.

The 30-year-old Collins was released by the Bengals in September. The Cowboys signed Collins to their practice squad ahead of the postseason, but he was not re-signed ahead of the new league year.

The Buffalo Bills have undergone a significant roster overhaul this offseason. Gone are Diggs, Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde, Tre’Davious White, Leonard Floyd, Mitch Morse, Gabe Davis and Deonte Harty.

With limited salary cap space, GM Brandon Beane hasn’t been able to make any drastic trades or free agent signings thus far. Up to this point, his biggest signing was free agent wide receiver Curtis Samuel on a three-year deal worth $24 million.

Collins played for the Cowboys from 2015 to 2021 before joining the Bengals in 2022 free agency on a three-year deal. In his lone season with Cincinnati, Collins garnered a 57.9 Pro Football Focus grade and allowed five sacks in 951 snaps.

Buffalo Bills Still Have Plenty Of Work To Do

Signing a serviceable offensive lineman like Collins was a nice piece of work by the Buffalo front office, but Beane still has plenty of tasks to fulfill in the coming months.

With Diggs and Davis gone, the Bills somehow have to add two more dynamic pass-catchers to aid Josh Allen. They also have to rebuild their secondary and front seven after losing a plethora of impact players there.

The Bills have won four straight AFC East division crowns and five playoff games since 2020, but they don’t have a single Super Bowl appearance to show for it. If they’re to remain in contention next season, Beane and company will have to ace the draft in three weeks’ time.
