REPORT: Doctor Now Hinting That D.r.u.g.s May Have Been Involved In Freezing D.e.a.t.h Of 3 Kansas City Chiefs Fans /d

A doctor has suggested that drugs shouldn’t be ruled out in the case of the three Kansas City Chiefs fans who froze to death this month.

Clayton McGeeney, David Harrington, and Ricky Johnson were found frozen solid in the backyard of Jordan Willis on January 9 by police, two days after they were believed to have left after watching a Chiefs game on January 7.

The bodies were found after McGeeney’s fiancee requested a welfare check when he failed to return home. Willis didn’t open up when people showed up to his house to inquire about the whereabouts of the trio and when the lawmen arrived, he answered with a wine glass in his hand and claimed to have no knowledge of his friends being dead in his backyard.

According to his lawyer, Willis was sleeping near a loud fan with noise-canceling headphones for two days. He has cooperated with the police and isn’t under investigation as foul play isn’t suspected.

However, Dr. Caleb Alexander, a John Hopkins epidemiologist suggests drugs may have been involved.

“It’s one thing for a person to tragically end up in a snowdrift after leaving a bar. But it’s a completely different story for three people to end up dead sitting on somebody’s back porch after a party,” he told the New York Post.

“The fact that there’s three individuals really heightens the curiosity and the tragedy of this case and, I think, increases the likelihood that something more than moderate amounts of alcohol were at play here.

“It certainly could be consistent with opioids, benzodiazepines, antihistamines, barbiturates, muscle relaxants,” he said, noting all he could do was speculate until toxicology reports came back.

“There are dozens of potential prescription drugs that when combined with alcohol could cause a level of sedation that would lead to ultimately freezing to death.”
The case is quite the bizarre one, especially given the claims of someone sleeping for 48 hours. Hopefully, the families of the three deceased will get some closure soon.
